What is a Telephone Exchange?

Local Telephone exchanges are located in different areas within a country. The purpose of the local telephone exchange is to provide a telecommunications connection to an area of households and businesses that are considered to be local to the telephone exchange. As every local telephone exchange is connected to the telecommunications infrastructure, they are able to receive a telephone service and Internet service from Internet Service Providers.
