What is a LAN?
A LAN (Local Area Network) is a network of computers that are connected together within a small geographic area (e.g. home, office or organisation). The purpose of a LAN is to let all computers share sources that are required by more than one user such as access to servers, information, printers and other network devices or internal resources. A LAN can be linked to another LAN with a VPN to create a WAN. A LAN can also be linked to a WAN through a VPN.
