What is Failover?

In the event of a technical failure in a network resource (e.g. Internet, server, computer), a pre-installed or preconfigured back-up network resource will automatically take over and continue providing the same functions to ensure there zero interruption to the environment in which it operates. Some network resources are so crucial to their environment that any failure is not acceptable and a back-up should be in place for continuous availability and reliability.
