What is Broadband?

Broadband is a type of Internet access. Broadband Internet access is available through various broadband Internet technologies (e.g. DSL, Fibre Cable, Wireless, Leased Lines, and ISDN. Broadband is the next level up from its predecessor narrowband (e.g. Dial-up). In comparison to narrowband, Broadband Internet access capable of transmitting voice (telephone) and data (Internet) simultaneously. Broadband also transmits data faster with higher bandwidth.
